OUR SERVICES
MIDEGO provides consulting, coaching services and project management services to assist health service delivery organizations, international development agencies, local and national governments, and private voluntary and nongovernmental organizations in managing rapid change and reaching ambitious health care goals in the US and abroad.
Our focus is on…
… through partnerships. MIDEGO is not in competition with other organizations. We strive to work with all partners in health and development and add value to our collective work.
We also coach clients interested in starting their own Global Health consulting practices or who are looking for ways to help people in developing countries
HOW WE DO IT
MIDEGO has developed a number of unique approaches and Tools to assist our clients rapidly and cost-effectively.
Asset-Based Management
Asset-Based Management (ABM) is a set of tools that MIDEGO uses to identify tangible and intangible assets in the health system or in a client organization and uncover improvement opportunities for managers and providers to make the best of what they already have.
ABM allows you to deliver quality services consistently and efficiently. It also helps you identify opportunities for making service delivery gender-oriented.
ABM is also partnership-building tool that allow our clients to build successful partnerships with all other development stakeholders.
If you manage a public health program, if you work for a government-run health care facility or for a faith-based or non-profit organization, or if you are a physician in private practice, you can improve your performance and benefit from becoming an “Asset-Based Manager” through one of our coaching programs.
Health Management Scorecard
The Health Management Scorecard (HMS) is a flexible tool that allows you to access effective information, make management decisions, and keep track of your goals.
HMS includes personal and organizational scorecards that make simple management and communication tools to keep you and your team on the same page and on target.
If you need better ways of measuring how your service, projects, or programs are doing; if you need to compare which of several activities is performing better; or if you need to make strategic or operational decisions, you can benefit from the HMS.
Hospital Development Systems
Hospitals play a pivotal role in improving the health of their communities. As centers of reference where most experienced staff work and are trained, hospitals need to lead the efforts of improving quality of care in their areas of coverage. MIDEGO uses its Hospital Development Systems (HDS) tool to identify opportunities for rapid improvement in hospital performance and to help hospitals play their technical leadership role in health systems strengthening and development.
HDS comprises a number of tools that enable hospital leaders to play a proactive role in implementing improvements, even when they have limited resources.
HDS contains an innovative community module that helps hospitals become an effective center of reference for the health centers and clinics in their catchment area. This way, hospitals can maximize their impact on the community they serve.
Virtual Consulting: Process Analysis and Value-adding Improvement Tools
MIDEGO offers a number of cost-effective virtual consulting services that avoid the cost of having a consultant travel onsite to assist. At the same time, our virtual consulting approaches and tools build capacity and strengthen stakeholders’ performance. Here is a few:
Like the Health Management Scorecard (HMS), the Process Analysis (PA) and Value-Added Analysis are assessment, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools. With these tools, you build on your knowledge of your staff, service, or program, and monitor and evaluate processes, products, and results.
Value-Added Analysis (VAA) uses M&E information to identify those steps that add value to your goals, that are crucial to quality service, and that rapidly help you streamline activities and scale up your program.
Community-Oriented Primary Care
A unique feature of MIDEGO’s services is the Community-Oriented Primary Care (COPC) Workshop. This is a fun-filled and intense-learning week-long meeting to mastermind how to take the health services provided to a community to the next Millennium! Developed by Professor Sidney Kark, Community-Oriented Primary Care, is a methodology that allows you to focus your resources on those programs that will make the greatest difference in your community.
It strategically integrates facility- and community-based services; public health and family and community medicine; clinical and epidemiological information; and promotional, preventive, and curative services. Rural South Africa, Spain, Israel, the United States, and other developed and developing countries have benefited from COPC.
